Why Open the Bible?
Start simpler: open the Bible to meet Jesus. You do not have to understand everything before you begin.
It is easy to put off reading the Bible. Maybe it feels too big, too old, or too hard to know where to begin. Start simpler: open it to meet Jesus.
The Bible is one long story, but Jesus is its center. He told people that the Scriptures point to Him (John 5:39–40). That means you do not have to solve every difficult question before you start. Read a passage, notice what it says about Jesus, and keep going.
The Gospels are a good place to begin because they let you see Him clearly: what He says, how He treats people, why He came, and what His death and resurrection mean. As you read, the rest of Scripture begins to make more sense. Jesus showed His disciples that the whole story had been leading to Him (Luke 24:25–27).
Bring your real questions. Slow down when a verse catches you. The goal is not to finish a reading plan as fast as possible. It is to know Christ and let His Word shape the way you see God, yourself, and the world.
